The two of us, we go way back. Like 19 years back to when we were college roommates, sharing the tiniest little room. She on the top bunk and me always hunched over to study on the bottom. (Okay I didn’t study all that much but when I did, it was hunched over with a highlighter and a flashlight in my tiny, creaky bottom bunk).
I have a special place in my heart for all my old friends from Kansas. Watching them grow into Motherhood, their kids getting taller by the minute. It feels like our college days were yesterday, and yet 100 years ago at the same time. Somehow, it seems we are the exact same people we were, and also not a shred of who we used to be.
I loved getting to capture my old friend exactly where she is today, surrounded by the people she has brought into her life over the years. What a gift this job is to allow me to re-connect with my people in this way.
